Program: courthouse design competition - Jerusalem, Israel

 

Concept: "Order that does not interfere with freedom", said the composer Johann Sebastian Bach . Justice system , similar to Bach's statement , aims to give citizens an harmonious balance and a sense of freedom - within the law. Is it possible to express this philosophy in an architecture court?

 

We chose an architectural solution based on the creation of a visible roof that looks deducted from a public square and fold in a dynamic and continuous way, while he organizes beneath the three parts of the courthouse : Magistrate Court , Juvenile Court , Family and Transport and Work Court Services. Any court keeps its unique architectural vision creating a new visual icon in the Jerusalem landscape.
